The GoPro Hero line of cameras have become the standard in action sports and just everyday action in general. The power behind these little cameras is breathtaking with the newest camera having the ability to create 4K quality videos. The newest line of GoPro’s, the Hero 3+, deliver the best video capture for the size and price. They come in two configurations Black and Silver. You can also buy the older version the Hero 3 in the White Edition. All three cameras can capture full 1080p video and also time lapses. But with the three choices ranging from $199-$399 it’s hard to pick which camera to choose for the price. So let’s break down each edition and find out which fits you best.
White Hero 3 Edition:
This camera is the most basic and original Hero 3 from GoPro. It only costs $199 and is very enticing to the person who wants a GoPro but is also on a budget. The specs are in the picture above but the bottom line, if you are just looking to shoot some random videos on your commute or track your teenagers driving….don’t do that please….this camera is perfect for you. It’s inexpensive and takes pretty good videos and time lapses. Nothing movie quality worthy but solid stuff. The camera itself is only 5 megapixels so picture quality isn’t as sharp if you’re just looking to do time lapses.
Silver Edition Hero 3+:
This version of the GoPro line is the $299 version of the improved Hero 3+ cameras and is a major jump in quality from the Hero 3 White. It offers better battery life than the original and also has better wifi range and speed compared to the White. The specs can be seen above. The bottom line, this version of the GoPro will fit a lot of people especially those who want to get into action capturing but don’t really care about making the absolute best videos or time lapses. The Silver edition is a great choice if you have the money to spend and want a little better video quality and 10 MP camera.
Black Edition Hero 3+:
At $399 it is the most expensive. This camera is the ultimate GoPro and puts the Pro into GoPro. Has the best camera at 12 MP and delivers up to 4K video quality. Bottom line if you want the best this camera delivers. Specs above.
Take a look at the GoPro line of cameras if you are in the market for a new camera and also want to take video!
