by Eva Leave a Comment

Video content is hugely popular, especially with teen blogs. If you’re a teen blogger, knowing how to find the right video, add or embed it to your post, and resize to fit the style and look of your site can totally transform how you blog. These tips will show you how to get it done in seconds flat and use video content to rack up readers and increase blog views.

Adding You Tube videos to a post can add so much to the look and feel of your article.  Although it is a straightforward process it took me a bit to figure it out.  There are only five steps and here they are:

1.  Find the video on You Tube that you want to embed in your post.

2.  Click the ‘share’ button.

See the ‘share’ button? It is underlined in red.

3.  Copy the code.

This will allow you to put a sentence underneath the video with a direct link in case some of your readers cannot see the video in your post.  You might put something like:

Can’t see the video?  Click HERE.

(Simply highlight the word HERE and paste in the link so that they can click directly to You Tube to see the video. This is also what you could do if you wanted to email the link to a friend.)

4.  Resize the video if you want.

It's easy to get the video to be the perfect size for your site. You can experiment until you get it just right.

Copy and paste the code directly into your post using the text screen.

Remember you have to be in the ‘Text’ screen NOT in the ‘Visual’ screen when you copy the code to embed the vido.  And don’t worry when only an orange box appears on the ‘Visual’ screen.  The video won’t appear until you publish the post.

I still have a long way to go to figuring out how to do things on this blog but I am learning.  Hope this helps you get starting with posting video on your site.

Interview Tips for Your First Job

A few years ago, I interviewed college student Tim Ciello about how he managed to land a full-ride scholarship to his dream school. Now, he’s back (and graduated) to talk about what life without student loan debt is like and what his scholarships ended up not covering. While he admits that he hasn’t exactly figured out money as an adult yet, he has learned tons of valuable money and life lessons during his time as a student.

Is Student Loan Debt Worth It?

Zan Campbell knows a thing or two about making a good first impression with the way you dress. As a helicopter pilot with the US Navy, he’s had to really work his way to the top, and one of the ways he did this is by styling himself in a way that was memorable and professional. Zan stops by the blog to give his best advice for teens who want to class up their looks and use fashion to their advantage.
