Last year we had the first ever Teenpreneur Conference in Jacksonville, FL for two days in June. There were just over 100 attendees and we learned about establishing a business model, building a brand, creating video, how to start a podcast, finding a mentor, and all sorts of other sessions that helped us learn how to start a business or grow one we already have.
We’ve made a few changes and improvements to this years conference based on the surveys our attendees filled out. Every single survey we got asked to lengthen the conference at least another day. So we did! This years conference will be from June 8 – 10 and I can barely wait for it to get here. If you are as excited as I am, don’t need any other info, and are ready to sign up click below!
Before I go on I would like to tell you a little bit about how all this got started.
For the last three years I have been able to attend FinCon which is a conference for personal finance bloggers. Attending this conference has changed my life. It has allowed me to network with some of the most innovative and interesting people in the personal finance space and I have made lifelong friends.
It has also brought many business opportunities my way because the people of FinCon help each other. Even though everyone is technically a competitor no one acts like it. Everyone seems to understand that if we all help each other we all do better and grow our businesses simultaneously. Phillip Taylor, the founder of FinCon has facilitated this atmosphere purposefully and I really can’t explain exactly how much I love going to this conference.
But what about teens?
Over the last year or two I have wanted to have some sort of conference for teens that would bring everyone together in a way that would allow us to support each other and build a community of friends much like FinCon. At first I thought I would put on a personal finance conference for teens. You know. Everyone could get together and learn how to budget their money and how to save and think about their retirement.
Wait. A. Minute. No one wants to attend that conference. The more I thought about how boring it could be I decided I wouldn’t even want to attend! But I couldn’t stop thinking about it. For months I tried to come up with some idea that would be interesting, mutually beneficial, and FUN! Finally I had an idea that I thought would work:
What if teens who have their own business or want to start their own business got together every year?
What if we helped each other understand how to build a business plan and how to market our product or service and all of the other things that makes a business successful?
Instead of being isolated away in our rooms or basements working away on our own projects we could all get together for a few days and learn the practical skills we need to help our businesses reach their full potential.
I’m so EXCITED to let you know it’s gonna happen for a second year! The conference is in Jacksonville, FL on June 8th – 10th.
