Vote For Me and All Your Wildest Dreams Will Come True!

by Eva 1 Comment

Good morning!  It’s Saturday.  No school – yay!

Not too long ago my mom wrote a post about my nomination for a Plutus Award.  You can read all about it HERE.  I am now adding in a personal request for you to go over and vote for TeensGotCents!

All you have to do is click on the trophy and it takes you directly to the page where you can cast a vote for “Best New Personal Finance Blog”. You can also go ahead and vote for your other favorite finance bloggers on the same form!

FINCON 13

The awards will be announced at FINCON 13 in St. Louis this October.  Mom and I are going to the conference and I am so excited.  It will be a great experience, help me learn more about blogging, allow me to meet so many of the other bloggers that have supported and encouraged me since January, and I will get to see the arch for the first time!  If you have just a few moments I would really appreciate a vote.  We found out that the winners get a present – and I love presents!

This week several personal finance carnivals were kind enough to include an article written by my mom.  It’s all about why parents should make sure that they have life insurance.  You can find it at:

Title..: 7 Reasons Parents Should Have Life Insurance

Carnival of Financial Planning at Mel’s Money
Aspiring Blogger Financial Carnival at Aspiring Blogger
Yakezie Carnival at Wealthnote
Carnival of Retirement at Your PF Pro
Financial Carnival for Young Adults at Money Bulldog

Don’t forget to vote.  You wouldn’t want to jeopardize your dreams or anything!  🙂

Happy Weekend!

Not only does it market your brand and let people know where to find more, but it also protects your image from being stolen on other sites. Hi guys, I’m Eva!

Welcome to TeensGotCents, my name is Eva Baker and I founded this site when I was sixteen. I'm a complete money nerd and I love helping teens learn how money works. Also, I watch too much Netflix. Although I still have a lot to learn about personal finance I hope you will use my successes and failures to help reach your own goals whether you want to go to college debt free, get a part time job, work on a fun DIY project that will save you money or just read about ways you can learn to manage your money well as a teen. So glad you're here! Read more about my story here.

Many teens don't have a high school resume but it's a useful tool to develop if you plan to try and get a part time job. Find out why you should have one and what to put on it!

Should You Bother With A High School Resume?

A few years ago, I interviewed college student Tim Ciello about how he managed to land a full-ride scholarship to his dream school. Now, he’s back (and graduated) to talk about what life without student loan debt is like and what his scholarships ended up not covering. While he admits that he hasn’t exactly figured out money as an adult yet, he has learned tons of valuable money and life lessons during his time as a student.
